The sale is official but it remains unclear what will become of a former nursing home in Holly Ridge.

Holly Ridge leaders voted unanimously to accept an offer of $200,000 by Mark Woodley, co-owner of IOE Integrations, Inc., for the property at 325 Sound Road during a special meeting Monday afternoon.

The former nursing home that was shut down by the state in January 2015.

During the meeting, Mayor Anita Dingler said the town didn’t receive any other bid aside from Woodley’s. When the council accepted the offer to start the 10-day bid process, $10,000, or 5 percent of the offer, was placed into a safe until the bid process was over, she said.

Town Manager Joe Pierce said “it’s up in the air” what the site will become.

“There’s speculation it could be used for a local business. (It would be) very beneficial for the town,” he said.
