Lions plan for fundraisers, events – News – Stuttgart Daily Leader – Stuttgart, AR – Arkansas News

The eyeglasses collected will be repaired and cleaned by Student Volunteer Optometric Service to Humanity (SVOSH) and will then be donated to people in need of eyeglasses.

The Stuttgart Lions Club has begun planning for its upcoming fundraisers this year, which will kick off with the eyeglasses drive in February.

Beginning next month, citizens can donate their unused eyeglasses by giving them to a Stuttgart Lions Club member or taking them to one of the following drop-off box locations:

    •    Stuttgart Daily Leader, located at 111 W. Sixth Street
    •    Farmers and Merchants Bank-Main branch, located at 708 S. Main Street
    •    Stuttgart Chamber of Commerce, located at 507 S. Main Street
    •    Riceland Foods-Main branch, located at 2120 S. Park Avenue
    •    Lennox Industries, located at 512 W. Lennox Road
    •    Dr. Stefan Calloway’s office, located at 713 S. Main Street
    •    Stuttgart Vision Clinic, located at 310 W. 22nd Street
    •    Stedman’s Ace Hardware, located at 110 S. College Street

The eyeglasses collected will be repaired and cleaned by Student Volunteer Optometric Service to Humanity (SVOSH) and will then be donated to people in need of eyeglasses.

On June 30,1925 at the Lions International Convention in Cedar Point, Ohio, Lions Club International accepted Helen Keller’s challenge to become “Knights of the Blind.” The Stuttgart Lions Club is honoring this commitment by holding an eyeglass collection in February for the Lions Recycle for Sight program.
