Three young men suspected of burglarizing a Fern Park home were arrested Monday thanks to a sergeant’s “proactive” policing, the Seminole County Sheriff’s Office said.
Dylan Usma, 19, Ryan Aheran, 21, and Delano Diaz, 18, all of Orlando, were arrested on charges of burglary of an unoccupied house, grand theft and criminal mischief Monday after being accused of burglarizing a home and fleeing law enforcement.
About 12:15 p.m., a sergeant patrolling the 100 block of Navel Drive in Seminole County noticed a “suspicious” red Honda CRV in front of a home with its door open, the Sheriff’s Office said in a news release Tuesday.
The Honda’s driver noticed the patrol car and sped away. The sergeant then noticed three men shut the front door of the home quickly and run from the back of the house.
The sergeant then ran after the fleeing men, jumping over fences and tracking them down near a local business, according to the Sheriff’s Office. Employees of the business helped direct the sergeant to where the men were hiding.
All three men were then taken into custody “without incident,” the news release said.
When deputies arrived and began to investigate the burglary, the homeowners returned and reported several possessions missing, according to the Sheriff’s Office.
Several of the items were found with the suspects and recovered, the Sheriff’s Office said. Usma, Aheran and Diaz were booked into the Seminole County Jail on $11,250 bonds each. Deputies are still seeking the driver of the Honda CRV.
