The Sacred Circle is closing
After nine years, The Sacred Circle will be closing in downtown Staunton. According to a release from owner Carey McCallum, the decision was tough and something he’s been thinking about for the past year.
“As many of you know, my life has changed a great deal in recent years,” he said. “Even though these have been wonderful and exciting changes they also have brought with them new realities and new priorities and I’ve gradually come to the conclusion that it is now time to bring this chapter to an end in order to begin laying the groundwork for the next.”
The store specialized in books, music, gifts and art with many new age elements. It opened in 2009, during one of the worst economic downturns the country has seen in some time. But, by utilizing some of the area’s great business resources like the Staunton Creative Community Fund in Staunton and the Shenandoah Valley Small Business Development Center in Harrisonburg, he was able to get his small business off the ground.
