Medical call leads to arrest in Hampstead child porn case – New Hampshire News

HAMPSTEAD – A Hampstead man was arrested this week on 12 counts of possessing child pornography after a medical call to his home last year allegedly led to the discovery of images involving young children on his computer.

Edward H. Howard, 70, of 5 Hollis Drive, turned himself in to Hampstead police on an arrest warrant Thursday.

Police Lt. John Frazier said the warrant was drafted last October after an investigation by Detective Mark Conway into allegations that Howard had child pornography on his computer.

Frazier said the information came to light after medical personnel attending to an emergency call for Howard in October observed multiple images of what they believed were “extremely young nude children engaging in sexual conduct” on computer screens.

The arrest warrant was issued following a lengthy investigation that involved the seizure of multiple computers and several search warrants.

Howard was released on $15,000 personal recognizance bond and is scheduled to appear in Plaistow Circuit Court on June 30.
