Moms, murder and more ahead in Santa Rosa County – Florida News

Saturday is a perfect day for a little outside action. Grab those tennis shoes and join a host of others for the 2017 “Walk for Mommy and Me” taking place from 10 a.m. until noon at Carpenter’s Park on Munson Highway in Milton. The Florida Department of Health in Santa Rosa County’s WIC Program sponsors the event for Healthy Babies and Healthiest Weight initiatives.

“We are happy to be able to sponsor The Walk again this year,” Dianne Pickens, LD, WIC director with the Department of Health in Santa Rosa County said. “The event really focuses on the whole family. There are many things for the children to do and lots of good information for parents. It’s a great opportunity for families to spend some time together having fun and being physically active. We encourage everyone to come out and have a great time.”

The walk will feature 37 booths offering a host of opportunities including: nutrition and car safety, activities and games for kids, area mascots McGruff and the Crash Test Dummies, Zumba, food demonstrations and Kindermusik. Participants who register will receive a free entry into a drawing for special prizes, but you must be on hand to win.
