Occupational therapy allows patients to live with diagnoses | Monticello Herald Journal –  Indiana News

Occupational therapists are celebrating April as Occupational Therapy Month, meanwhile their patients are celebrating the ability to do day-to-day activities. 

Occupational therapy can treat an array of ailments. An occupational therapist works with patients recovering from strokes to patients with developmental delays, said IU Health White Memorial Hospital Occupational Therapist Sara Phelps. Patients of all ages and diagnoses can benefit from occupational therapy. 

“We help people get back to their job of living,” Phelps said.  “We help give them the life they want to live.”
