Downtown’s Government Plaza, a five-acre park adjacent to government buildings and private businesses, will be host to the Second Annual Tuscaloosa Volksfest, from noon to 6 p.m. Saturday.
There’ll be German-style beers produced by local breweries, German food and traditional music by Wolfgang Moritz and the Oom-Pahsters from Lebanon, Tenn.
Children’s activities will include a Tuscaloosa Barnyard Petting Zoo, games and blow-ups.
Admission is $15 general, with kids 12 and under free. For the VIP price of $50, patrons can also get a souvenir beer mug and T-shirt, and three beer tokens.
Government Plaza abuts the four-story parking garage of the city’s Intermodal Facility, so free parking is easy and close. www.brownpapertickets.com/event/2873183.
Volksfest is a fund-raiser for Focus on Senior Citizens of Tuscaloosa County. Learn more at www.focusonseniorcitizens.org.
