Central High School basketball players Bryson and Braden Dankert signed to play basketball for the same NCAA Division III team, Fontbonne University. Central coach Armando Johnson shared his thoughts.
It would be easy to look at Bryson and Braden Dankert and say the twins are too small to play college basketball, but all they need is a shot.
Or in Bryson Dankert’s case, 10 shots.
Central High School senior Bryson Dankert, who once made 10 3-pointers in a single game, signed a letter of intent to play basketball at NCAA Division III Fontbonne University on Thursday. The best part of signing day was that he signed an identical letter of intent alongside his non-identical twin brother, Braden Dankert, who will also try to break in with the men’s basketball team at Fontbonne.
The day marked a dream come true for the two brothers.
“It means everything. (Braden) has always been there with me and it’s really exciting that we can both live out our dreams together, be together in the next level and play like we always have,” Bryson Dankert said. “I always wanted to play college basketball, so—big moment for me.”
Braden Dankert, a 6-foot sharpshooter, was equally pleased to make a college commitment alongside his 5-foot-11 twin.
