Major thanks are in order for the staff of the Chapel Hill Community Center for their gracious hospitality to us swimmers during the repair of the Homestead Aquatics center.
In particular, I am extremely grateful to the additional hours the center opened for all of us extra swimmers, especially the insomniacs among us (like me) who appeared every morning at 5 a.m., bleary-eyed, like an aquatics version of “Night of the Living Dead,” drifting in from the parking lot waving our ID cards.
We are lucky in many ways, not least to have extra swimming pools to use in just such situations, but as well in having such kind people welcoming us into their facility. To all of you, thanks.
