• Ginny Farney from the Funeral Consumers Alliance of Greater Kansas City will speak, 10 a.m., Blue Ridge Boulevard Christian Church, 3625 Blue Ridge Blvd., Independence. FCA-GKC is non-profit, all volunteer organization. They educate and support people in making informed decisions about death related services, consistent with their values. She will discuss funeral law and misconceptions, consumer’s rights and options, and share the most recent funeral price survey of funeral homes in the metro area.

• Young Rembrandts Drawing Class: All About, for ages 5 to 12, 5:30 to 8:30 p.m., Blue Springs Fieldhouse, 425 N.E. Mock Ave. Participants will learn drawing techniques, portraiture and cartooning styles. All materials provided. Cost, $12. Call 228-0137 to register.

• The Library’s Future: A Community Stakeholder Discussion, 7 p.m., Blue Springs North Branch of Mid-Continent Public Library, 850 N.W. Hunter Drive. MCPL would like to know how you think the Library can better serve your community over the next decade. This meeting will have opportunity for discussion and participation. If you cannot attend, a link to an online survey will be emailed to you so you can share your views on these subjects with the Library. Free, but registration is required, call 224-8772.
