In honor of Earth Day and to improve the natural beauty of the town of Mount Shasta, the surrounding area and national forest, two clean-up events are scheduled for the morning of Earth Day, Saturday, April 22. More volunteers are needed for these community efforts.
In addition to the clean-up events, the Mount Shasta Bioregional Ecology Center is hosting an Earth Day Festival at Mount Shasta City Park on Sunday, April 23.
Clean and Safe Mt. Shasta is coordinating “Clean-Up Mt. Shasta” on Earth Day. Individuals and groups of all ages and abilities are invited to participate.
Registration and orientation begin at 8:30 a.m. on April 22 at the Mount Shasta City Park lower lodge. The clean-up finishes at noon. Groups of volunteers will work with a team leader for each clean-up section.
The event is also sponsored by the City of Mount Shasta, the US Forest Service local office, Mount Shasta Chamber of Commerce, Extreme Speed Track Events, and Siskiyou Association of Realtors.
