It’s always important — especially in today’s culture — to remember the past.
That is what Walter Brooks aims to do when he takes part in Yankton’s Events at the AME Series Saturday at 2 p.m. by presenting, “An Afternoon on Malcolm X.”
The presentation will be held at the AME Allen Chapel.
For his presentation, Brooks will largely focus on Malcolm X’s message and how it pertains to today’s world.
“A lot of the issues he challenged in the 1960s are very much with us today,” he said. “There is the sense that America now is a divided nation and sides have been chosen. Malcolm X addressed a lot of those issues.”
