• Legacy Park Amphitheater Rockin’ Summer kickoff: Celebration of the Arts, 6:30 to 10 p.m., at the Amphitheater, 897 N.E. Bluestem Drive, Lee’s Summit. This event spotlights many of the talented cultural arts group who call Lee’s Summit home. A local dance studio, theatre group, kids rock band, two acapella groups, and the Lee’s Summit R-7 orchestra will perform. The night will end with the Orchestra playing as a small 10 minute firework show will light the sky. This is a free event. For questions, call 969-1500.
• Third Friday Art Walk, 5:30 to 9 p.m. – The galleries in the Englewood Station Arts District, Winner Road and Sterling Avenue, in Independence, open their doors to art lovers.
