• Legacy Park Amphitheater Rockin’ Summer kickoff: Celebration of the Arts, 6:30 to 10 p.m., at the Amphitheater, 897 N.E. Bluestem Drive, Lee’s Summit. This event spotlights many of the talented cultural arts group who call Lee’s Summit home. A local dance studio, theatre group, kids rock band, two acapella groups, and the Lee’s Summit R-7 orchestra will perform. The night will end with the Orchestra playing as a small 10 minute firework show will light the sky. This is a free event. For questions, call 969-1500.

• Third Friday Art Walk, 5:30 to 9 p.m. – The galleries in the Englewood Station Arts District, Winner Road and Sterling Avenue, in Independence, open their doors to art lovers. See artists in action, demonstrations, and enjoy live music and refreshments. Free. Call 252-3372 or visit www.englewoodstation.com.

• Small Business Bootcamp, 8:30 a.m., CJC Fire Protection District Training Center, 4715 U.S. 40, Blue Springs. Get the information you need to get your business started. This morning seminar will include talks on business growth, business storytelling, and using social media, as well as networking with local resource organizations that help small businesses.
