MORRIS – Morris Fire Protection and Ambulance District responded to a fire in the 500 block of Benton Street Friday.
Fire Chief Tracey Steffes said damage was contained to the roof and attic of the home and he currently doesn’t have an estimate on the amount of damage.
“The owner said two breakers that were thrown on his box this morning, so he went to the store to purchase parts,” Steffes said. “When he returned home, he noticed the fire in the attic area.”
Firefighters quickly put out the blaze after attacking the fire from both the inside and from a hole they cut in the roof on the backside of the house.
