TL Tennis loses close match against Logansport | Monticello Herald Journal –  Indiana News

LOGANSPORT — It came down to one match point.

The Twin Lakes Indians fell short in the sectional chamption match against Logansport, falling 3-2. 

In No. 1 singles action, Madison Looker defeated Taylor Sanders in three sets: 3-6, 6-2, and 6-1. 

The Indians took advantage in No. 2 singles play.

Kaitlyn Cook knocked off Karlee Vernon: 6-1, 3-6, and 6-3. 

But Logansport responded by taking the win in No. 3 singles.

 Autumn Shively edged Mallory Gardiner: 6-2, 6-3

The duo of Emily McCraw and Makinsey Long defated TL’s duo of Taylor Jansen and Taylor Spear: 6-1, 6-3

The Indians bounced back in No. 2 doubles play.

The team of Jonni Goodman and Erika Campbell defeated Taylor Pasquale and Kathleen Hunt: 6-2, 6-1. 

Weather played a huge factor in TL’s season, but the Indians made progress throughout the year, according to coach Anissa Need.

“They did very well with little practice we had this season due to the weather,” she said. “ We had a lot of matches that we lost 2-3.  This week I feel the girls came off the courts knowing they did their best.”
