JOSHUA TREE — Tom Floen was selected to fill the vacant position on the Joshua Basin Water District’s board of directors at a special meeting Thursday.
With the recent death of Victoria Fuller, a popularly voted director, the board struggled to choose only one from the five candidates. Rebecca Unger voiced the positive problem the directors faced Thursday night.
“We could almost fill another board!” she said.
Douglas Buckley, Jeff Dongvillo, David Larson, Mike Reynolds and Floen all interviewed for the position. Each candidate submitted an application and was interviewed in the open session. They were all asked the same questions and were asked to step out of the room while others answered so the questions would be fresh for them.
