Trade Days a fun experience in Lumberton – Mississippi News

Lumberton Farm and Garden hosts Trade Days on the first and third Saturdays of the month.

The events are for anyone with farm items or animals to sell.

Trade Days started about a year ago.

The day that I attended there were only seven vendors including one from Gulfport. Others were local or from Poplarville.

There were free kittens, four colors of rabbits, old tires, eggs, crawfish traps, handmade jewelry and artifacts among the items on display or for sale.

It was definitely a fun outing.

MASTER SGT. KELVIN LADNER, the son of Oscar and Dorothy Ladner of Lumberton, was recently promoted to the rank of master sergeant.

Ladner and his wife, Stephanie, have two sons: Kelvin Jr. and Jayden.

He joined the Army in August 2000.

He was promoted to master sergeant on May 12 at Fort Campbell, Kentucky. He serves as senior human resource sergeant with the 101st Division Sustainment Brigade Airborne. …

SUMMER READING PROGRAM registration started May 8 at Lumberton Public Library. You needed to be preregistered by May 19 to participate in the “Wet Day Fun.”

The library will be closed all day for staff training Tuesday. It will also be closed May 27 for the Memorial Day weekend.
