Darnell Sweeney tripled and singled twice as the Louisville Bats topped the Charlotte Knights 5-2 on Tuesday.
Louisville went up 2-0 in the second inning after Hernan Iribarren hit an RBI single, scoring Phillip Ervin.
The Knights cut into the deficit in the sixth inning when Roberto Pena hit an RBI double, scoring Cody Asche.
The Bats later added two runs in the eighth and one in the ninth. In the eighth, Zach Vincej hit a two-run single, while Brandon Dixon hit an RBI double in the ninth.
Louisville right-hander Jackson Stephens (4-4) picked up the win after allowing one run on just three hits over 5 2/3 innings. Opposing starter James Shields (0-3) took the tough loss after allowing two runs and six hits over five innings.
