Bedford North Lawrence junior Daylen Tidd led the way as the Stars turned in an eighth-place finish in the boys golf state finals at Prairie View Golf Club in Carmel, Indiana on Wednesday.
Tidd fired a one-under 71 in the final round of the 36-hole event and finished at 4-over par for the tournament, good for a share of 16th place. The junior was one of 10 players to shoot under par on Wednesday.
BNL carded a 616 as a team, just eight strokes outside of the top five. Stars seniors Jalen Hodges and Koby Robb finished tied for 46th at 11-over. Sophomore Ethan Stanley tied for 69th at 17-over and senior Blake Martin was one stroke back, good for a share of 72nd.
Floyd Central junior Jack Lilly, competing as an individual, opened play Tuesday with an 81 but rebounded with a 4-over 76 on Wednesday. The reigning Providence Sectional champion, Lilly finished tied for 52nd.
Fresh off a medalist performance in this past Thursday’s Providence Regional – shooting a 5-under 67 at Champions Pointe Golf Club – Corydon sophomore Joey Wiseman finished tied for 57th as an individual.
