Bristol woman arrested after Washington County pursuit | News –  Virginia News

ABINGDON, Va. — A Bristol, Virginia woman was arrested June 7 after a pursuit in Washington County.

Brandi N. Barker, 30, was charged with felony elude, possession with intent to distribute methamphetamine, and driving while suspended.

Washington County Sheriff Fred Newman said deputies observed a 2011 Nissan Altima being driven by a woman who was wanted on a capias. The woman was traveling on Enterprise Road when deputies attempted to stop the vehicle, Newman said.

A pursuit ensued and eventually ended on an Exit 22 ramp along Interstate 81. Newman said deputies observed a baggie containing approximately an ounce of crystal methamphetamine sticking out of the woman’s shorts.

Barker is being held without bail at the Southwest Virginia Regional Jail in Abingdon.
