Colvin finalist for SRO of the Year – News – Stuttgart Daily Leader – Stuttgart, AR – Arkansas News

Colvin is a finalist in the Kool-Aid SRO of the Year for the Arkansas Safe School Association.

He’s a recognizable face in the hallways of the Stuttgart Public School District schools, and now Paul Colvin is being recognized for his contributions to students as their school resource officer (SRO).

Colvin is a finalist in the Kool-Aid SRO of the Year for the Arkansas Safe School Association.

“I don’t think you can get a better school resource officer,” SPD Assistant Chief Steven Bobo said.

Bobo added that Colvin could have a higher ranking badge than he does now, but he stays where he is, because he loves the kids and he loves his job, stating that many of the students look to him as a father figure. Bobo said he thinks Colvin is an excellent officer who really cares about the kids he works with and wants to help them and see them succeed.

“All the kids out there, they love him, but they respect him,” Bobo explained.

“It’s a huge honor, it really is. I mean I just can’t believe little old me out of Stuttgart, Arkansas, out of the whole state of Arkansas, and all the schools and the awesome resource officers that’s out there, I became a finalist,” Colvin said.

Many of the students he mentors, his fellow officers at the Stuttgart Police Department (SPD) and Stuttgart Public School District staff know how deserving he is of the recognition, as he always goes above and beyond his duties.
