Driver’s license office to resume extended hours – Texas News

Correction: The Texas Department of Pubic Safety’s local Driver’s License Office is resuming extended hours. An earlier version of this story’s headline named the wrong agency.

Texas Department of Public Safety has restored extended hours at the Corpus Christi Driver’s License Office, 3506 Twin River Blvd. 

According to a news release published Tuesday, June 13, the change took effect immediately.

The DPS had changed office hours June 5 to reduce the department’s overtime costs. Office hours were 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday, Wednesday and Friday and from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. Tuesday. 

After a discussion with state leaders and legislators, the DPS decided to resume extended hours. They will look at other options to cut costs. 

The office is now open from 7:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Thursday and 7:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Friday.
