Grayson County News Gazette | Golf scramble to benefit local cancer patients – Kentucky News

Two Grayson County High School DECA members, inspired by personal tragedy, have established a new fundraiser to ensure those battling cancer have access to the treatment they need.

Soon to be Grayson County High School senior Ethan Hayse and his younger brother, Evan, who will be a high school freshman next year, have organized a four-person golf scramble tournament to be held at Lafayette Golf Club in Falls of Rough Resort starting at 8:00 a.m. on Saturday, July 15.

The golf scramble will be an 18-hole event for four-person teams, and the entry fee is $200 per team. This includes the green fee and cart fee for 18 holes, as well as a meal and prizes.

There will be first and second place prizes awarded, and “Closest to Pin” and “Longest Drive” contests, as well.

All proceeds from the event will benefit cancer patients in Grayson County, through care packages to help ensure patients are able to receive chemotherapy.

The Hayse brothers organized the golf scramble in memory of their late mother, Stacy Hayse, whom passed away at age 36 from colon cancer when Ethan and Evan Hayse were 6 and 3 years old, respectively.

To register to participate in the golf scramble, mail to Brittany Gary, Grayson County Technology Center, 252 Schoolhouse Rd., Leitchfield, KY 42754; email brittany.gary660@gmail.com; or call 270-589-2262.

Hole sponsors and donations are needed, as well.

For more information, call Evan Hayse at 270-287-7152 or Ethan Hayse at 270-589-1649.
