Services will be held Friday for a 27-year-old Morris Tech graduate who died over the weekend from injuries sustained in a motorcycle accident.

Gregory Michaels of Pompton Plains passed away Sunday following a motorcycle accident near Stroudsburg, Pa., according to his obituary.

The Stroud Area Regional Police Department confirmed a motorcycle accident investigation but would not release any information, including the date and location of the crash.

A memorial service will be held Friday from 9 a.m. to noon at Our Lady of Good Counsel Church, 155 West Parkway in Pompton Plains. A funeral mass will follow at 1 p.m., according to his obituary.

Michaels’ family asked those attending to not wear black in celebration of his life.

Michaels was a Pompton Plains resident all his life, according to his obituary. He graduated from the Morris County School of Technology in 2008.

“Greg enjoyed life to its fullest and could be found on a boat on Greenwood Lake, snowboarding at Mountain Creek, DJ-ing at parties and weddings or wherever his friends were having fun,” his obituary read.

“A proud New Jerseyan, Greg enjoyed riding his bike all across the state from the mountains to the shore. Always the life of the party, Greg was the center of any room he entered. His appetite for action and adventure took him to every corner of the country, and involved him in enough crazy times to fill a book. A kind hearted, generous and charming soul, he was instantly loved; and was recognized by someone everywhere he went.”
