For Father’s Day this weekend, children will be able to visit the Martin and Osa Johnson Safari Museum for free. They will also have a chance for their families to participate in the annual Duck Race later this summer in the lazy river at Maring Aquatic Center.
Museum Curator Jacque Borgeson Zimmer said the duck race is the most fun event the museum has each year. Children cheer and run alongside as their rubber ducks float around the lazy river feature, with prizes for the first to cross the finish line. Even the adults get excited. Some people even decorate the ducks before the race.
This year’s race will be Aug. 5.
