LOGAN – This will be the final week of performances of “Hairspray” at Chief Logan State Park.
The Aracoma Story Inc. will present the Tony Award winning musical this Thursday through Sunday at the Liz Spurlock Amphitheater. All shows start at 8:30pm.
The show follows Tracy Turnblad, a pleasantly plump teenager who wants a chance to dance on a popular American Bandstand type television show. However, the show’s producer is only interested in nice, white, skinny kids. The show is hilarious and pokes fun at nearly every stereotype. “It’s a fun show designed to teach important lessons on bullying, acceptance and equality,” Director Bill France said.
The show is set in Baltimore 1962 but as Diana O’Briant, president of the Aracoma Story inc. Board of Directors says, “It’s truly a show that all ages can enjoy.”
Tickets can be purchased in advance by visiting Gatti’s at the Fountain Place Mall, Pic Pac at Man, Aracoma Drug in Chapmanville and by calling (304) 752-0253.
