The Courier » Shooting incident reported; man transported to hospital – Ohio News

FOSTORIA — A man was shot Wednesday night near South Poplar Street, east of downtown Fostoria.

The shooting took place just before 10:30 p.m. in an alley between Tiffin and South streets near the 200 block of Poplar Street.

According to police radio traffic, the man was shot in the leg. Fostoria Fire Division EMS was dispatched at about 10:35 p.m. to transport the victim to Fostoria Community Hospital. A Life Flight medical helicopter was called to the hospital.

Police found the car the shooter was believed to be in around the corner from where the shooting took place. The car was recovered from a parking lot near a business in the 300 block of South Main Street. The keys were found in the vehicle, according to radio traffic, but the shooter was still at large.

Law enforcement from Hancock and Seneca counties also responded to the incident. CERT (Community Emergency Response Team) was called to manage traffic in the area.

No additional information was available at press time Wednesday as officers were still processing the scene. No report on the victim’s condition was available.
