One of four men who invaded a home west of downtown Phoenix early Thursday morning was killed in a shootout with the homeowner, police said.

The 20-year-old homeowner told police that four masked men broke into his home and exchanged gunfire with him before they fled from his house on the 2900 block of West Taylor Street.

A few houses down, police say they found a masked man lying dead in the street with a gunshot wound around 3 a.m.

Police said the homeowner was not injured and no additional suspects had been located as of Thursday afternoon.

The deceased man, whose name was not released, is described to be 18 to 22 years old.

Police said they arrested the homeowner on suspicion of drug-related charges stemming from an investigation.
