Public Safety Report — June 29, 2017 | Public Safety Report – Alaska News

FAIRBANKS — The Public Safety Report is compiled from criminal complaints filed in state and federal courts, as well as some police blotter information, trooper dispatches, fire department reports and interviews with public safety officials. Individuals named as arrested and/or charged with crimes in this report are presumed innocent until proved guilty in a court of law.

Assault

• Gregory Calvin Barnes, 33, of Fairbanks, was charged with fourth-degree assault June 21 for a June 12 incident. 

According to charging documents, Fairbanks police responded to a report Barnes had assaulted his wife at a Bunnell Street address. The woman was contacted outside the home and the left knee of her jeans was split and she was bleeding from two scrapes, according to charging documents. 

She told police Barnes was staying with his girlfriend at a nearby apartment and she went there to get their dog. They argued and she left with the dog. Barnes followed her outside, picked her up and “bodyslammed” her against the building. The woman complained of pain in her back, hip and head, according to the charges.

• Roxy Misty Carroll, 31, of Fairbanks, was charged with fourth-degree assault June 21 for a May 27 incident. 

According to charging documents, Carroll punched her fiancé in the head multiple times and bit his chest while they were arguing about her using the rent money for something else.

• Kendria A. James, 27, of Fairbanks, was charged with fourth-degree assault June 21 for a May 18 incident.
