The Courses at the London Bridge was officially purchased by three Lake Havasu City residents Monday and will operate under the name Lake Havasu Golf Club.
According to Dan Esse, one of the owners, they purchased the business for $3 million and project to spend a total of $8.9 million after sprucing up the property.
“We’re excited; the response has just been incredible,” said Jeff Gilbert, another owner.
Since finalizing their purchase, grass has been cut and reshaped, palm trees have been removed and desert vegetation has been planted. The three business partners – including, Craig Adams – are aiming to transform their courses into desert courses by adding cacti, changing the sand and redesigning all the holes, said Gilbert.
“Making improvements on the golf course is going to be what people respond most favorably to; having some place that they are proud to bring their families and friends to,” said Paul Lepler, general manager at the courses for almost five years. “We finally have a group in here that cares about the property…this is an opportunity where everything that we do and everything that we make is going to stay here and go towards this property.”
From July 1 to July 31, the LHGC plans to waive the initiation fee associated with becoming a member of the club, they said. Members can expect to pay $199 a month per single person or $299 a month per family, which includes a 10 percent discount throughout the whole property and free range, said Adams.
