TIJUANA, Mexico (AP) — Gabriel Gutierrez had four hits and three RBI as the Toros de Tijuana topped the Guerreros de Oaxaca 10-5 on Thursday. The Toros swept the three-game series with the win.
Tijuana started the scoring with a big second inning, when it scored four runs, including a two-run double by Gutierrez.
Following the big inning, the Guerreros cut into the deficit in the next half-inning when Mario Valenzuela hit a two-run double.
The Toros later added one run in the third, three in the sixth, and two in the seventh to secure the victory.
Tijuana right-hander Manny Barreda (2-6) picked up a quality start and the win after allowing two runs on four hits over six innings. Opposing starter Ruddy Acosta (4-4) took the loss in the Mexican League game after allowing five runs and six hits over five innings.
With the win, Tijuana remains undefeated (6-0) against Oaxaca this season.
