Head to Huachuca City Park for July 4 | Local News Stories – Arizona News

HUACHUCA CITY – Families are invited to join Huachuca City’s Independence Day celebration, where afternoon and evening festivities include a free barbecue at the City Park, live music, fun activities for kids and a grand finale fireworks display after dusk.

Sponsored by the Huachuca City Parks and Recreation Department, the town’s event draws a large number of families to the park every year.

“We always have a great celebration for July 4th,” said Fire Chief Jon Allmon. “The barbecue starts around 2 p.m. and they’re planning to have live music throughout the afternoon as well.” The fireworks are purchased by the town of Huachuca City, with firefighters on hand to set them off for the program, typically around 8 p.m., weather permitting. The display typically lasts around 40 minutes.

All those planning to spend the afternoon at the park are advised to slather on the sunscreen and drink plenty of water.

And don’t forget to bring lawn chairs for the fireworks display.
