TACOMA, Wash. (AP) — Tyler O’Neill hit a walk-off two-run homer with one out in the ninth inning, as the Tacoma Rainiers topped the Las Vegas 51s 7-5 on Thursday.
After Las Vegas’ Travis Taijeron hit a grand slam in the top of the eighth, Tacoma tied the game 5-5 in the bottom of the inning when D.J. Peterson hit a sacrifice fly, scoring Boog Powell.
O’Neill homered and singled, scoring a couple of runs while also driving home two in the win.
Emilio Pagan (2-1) got the win with a scoreless inning in relief while Hansel Robles (0-1) took the loss in the Pacific Coast League game.
Tacoma improved to 8-3 against Las Vegas this season.
