David Andrew Douglass
January 26, 1928 – May 20, 2017
After a full life, David died peacefully surrounded by family.
The youngest of seven children, David was born in Medellin, Colombia, South America, to missionary parents Clifford and Una Miriam Douglass. He and his wife Roberta raised five children in Pacifica. He was an employee of the phone company (AT&T, later Pacific Bell) until retirement.
An avid, lifelong dancer, he was a member of the performing group Golden Follies. He also ushered at the San Francisco Ballet and San Francisco Opera for many years. Whether rafting down the Grand Canyon, punting on the Thames, scuba diving in Belize, setting up a swing set in the backyard for his kids or building a sled run at Tahoe for his grandkids, he created fun for all. He was a lifelong learner and enthusiastic member of the Pacifica Senior Center where you would find him at lunch, in computer class or playing pool with his friend Jack.
David remained close to all his siblings and their families. Numerous holiday gatherings, cruises, world travels and visits kept everyone engaged and loving. He had an infectious smile, fun sense of humor, quick wit and was generous and kind. He will be sorely missed.
