Life Tributes: David Michael Pagano | Obituaries – California News

David Michael Pagano

May 25, 1943 – June 4, 2017

David passed away on June 4, 2017, as a result of cardiac arrest at the age of 74.

He was born at St. Mary’s Hospital in San Francisco on May 25, 1943, and was raised on Elizabeth Street in Noe Valley. David attended St. Philips and Alvarado grammar schools, James Lick Middle School and Mission High School.

He is predeceased by his parents, Mary Elizabeth Colman Pagano and Raymond Pagano, and his sister Beverly Jean Pagano Lyons. He is survived by his longtime beloved companion Elizabeth Gilbert, son David Pagano Jr., daughter Bernadette Pagano and granddaughter Tara Jean; siblings Carol Pagano Henderson, Dolores (Toodie) O’Connell, Dominic Pagano and Theresa Pagano Dick, as well as many loving nieces, nephews, grandnieces, grandnephews and cousins.

He served in the 82nd Airborne Division of the US Army and courageously fought in Vietnam and was a Purple Heart recipient. Upon his discharge from the Army, David started his business, San Francisco Towing, and operated service stations in the San Francisco area until he retired in 1987 to invest in real estate.

His humor, loyalty, kindness and devotion will be missed by family and friends. We love and miss you, Dave.

A funeral mass will be held at Saint Philips Church, 725 Diamond St., San Francisco at 10:30 a.m. on Friday, July 21. Interment to follow at Holy Cross Cemetery, Colma. In lieu of flowers, the family requests a donation made to your favorite veteran’s organization.
