COMSTOCK PARK, Mich. (AP) — Troy Sieber hit a grand slam in the ninth inning, and Cesar Rosado allowed just two hits over five innings as the Quad Cities River Bandits beat the West Michigan Whitecaps 8-1 on Saturday.
The grand slam by Sieber gave the River Bandits an 8-1 lead and capped a six-run inning for Quad Cities. Earlier in the inning, Josh Rojas hit an RBI single and Daz Cameron drew a bases-loaded walk.
Rosado (2-1) picked up the win after he struck out four while allowing one run.
Spenser Watkins (6-2) went seven innings, allowing two runs and three hits in the Midwest League game. He also struck out seven and walked two. Devon Carr pitched two scoreless innings for his first save of the season.
