ASHEVILLE, N.C. (AP) — Will Albertson hit a two-run double in the ninth inning, leading the Augusta GreenJackets to a 10-9 win over the Asheville Tourists on Sunday.
Patrick Ruotolo allowed a run, but struck Manuel Melendez out with a runner on second to end the game for his 11th save of the season.
The double by Albertson capped a four-run inning and gave the GreenJackets a 10-8 lead after Cristian Paulino hit a two-run single earlier in the inning.
In the bottom of the ninth, Asheville cut into the deficit on a solo home run by Tyler Nevin.
Caleb Smith (1-0) got the win with 1 2/3 innings of scoreless, one-hit relief while Reid Humphreys (0-2) took the loss in the South Atlantic League game.
For the Tourists, Nevin was a triple short of the cycle, driving home three runs and scoring a couple. Carlos Herrera doubled and singled twice, also stealing a base.
