A female motorist died in an early-morning accident on the Route 210 Freeway in Fontana on Monday, July 17, according to the California Highway Patrol.
At about 3:25 a.m., a 1996 Toyota Camry was traveling eastbound at an unknown rate of speed on the 210 west of Sierra Avenue.
For reasons still under investigation, the driver allowed her vehicle to veer right, crossing into the gore point of the off-ramp and colliding with the right shoulder embankment, the CHP said. The Camry continued out of control and subsequently became airborne and struck the Sierra overcrossing. The Camry overturned, coming to rest on its roof on the right shoulder of the 210.
