Andressian of South Pasadena, father of boy found dead, to plead guilty Tuesday – California News





Aramazd Andressian Sr., the South Pasadena man charged with killing his 5-year-old son who went missing for almost three months before he was found dead at Lake Cachuma in Santa Barbara County, is expected to plead guilty Tuesday to the crime, according to KABC.

Andressian Sr., 35, is scheduled for a preliminary hearing setting Tuesday at Alhambra Superior Court.

His defense attorney, Ambrosio Rodriguez, indicated last week there would be an announcement prior to the hearing.

On June 23, the prosecution charged Andressian Sr. with the April 21 murder of his son, Aramazd “Piqui” Andressian Jr. He was facing 25 years to life if convicted.

A sheriff’s homicide detective alleged that Andressian Sr. killed his son to get back at his wife, Ana Estevez. The couple are in the middle of a contentious divorce.

Detectives arrested Andressian Sr. in Las Vegas on June 23.

Hours after investigators brought him back to California on June 30, detectives discovered the boy’s body.

The body was found in a wooded area in San Ynez, according to a July 3 report by the Los Angeles County Department of Children and Family Services. The same report stated that the search was conducted based on information provided by Andressian Sr.

Andressian allegedly told authorities he harmed the boy and left him in Santa Barbara County, according to the DCFS report.

Piqui was missing for two months.

Estevez reported her son missing on April 22 when her estranged husband failed to show up with the boy for a child custody exchange.
