Anthony Scaramucci’s crazy phone call to New Yorker’s Ryan Lizza, the dramatic reenactment – East Bay Times – California News

One great thing about the digital age is that we don’t have to wait for Hollywood to get its act together for us to enjoy a dramatic re-creation of one of the most head-spinning moments of our crazy political era.

Say what you will about Anthony Scaramucci, the slick hedge fund manager who was ousted Monday after just 10 days as White House communications director.

The Mooch can do a good phone rant. In a call to New Yorker writer Ryan Lizza, he tore into those he perceived as the enemies of himself and his now former boss President Donald Trump: Reince Priebus, Steve Bannon, West Wing “leakers.”

As detailed by Lizza, Scaramucci achieved levels of unhinged anger, drama and profane poetry that even David Mamet might envy.

Anyone who read the rant might be inclined to think: So when is the movie coming out? Or in this era of prestige TV, when is the HBO  limited series coming out?

We don’t have to wait. “Veep” actor Brian Huskey plays Scaramucci in this reenactment put together by the Washington Post video team. Producer David Jorgensen steps in to the Lizza role.

And, don’t worry, it’s “SFW”: the bad words are bleeped out.
