Dvořák, played by the best
If you’re interested in seeing the best chamber music our state has to offer (that is, classical music performed by small groups), take yourself up to the Ellen Battell Stoeckel estate grounds in Norfolk for the August installment of the Norfolk Chamber Music Festival, presented by the Yale School of Music. There will be an emerging-artist showcase on Aug. 3 at 7:30 p.m. in the Music Shed with free admission. On Aug. 4, the Shed will host a night focused on Czech composer Antonín Dvořák at 8, with a pre-show conversation at 7 (Tickets $20-$55). The festival’s summer gala, with music from Dvořák’s Serenades, will be Aug. 5. Tickets for the gala start at $35. 203-432-1965, norfolk.yale.edu
