JACKSON, Tenn. (AP) — Erick Castillo singled twice as the Tennessee Smokies topped the Jackson Generals 4-2 on Sunday.
Trailing 2-0 in the fourth, Jackson cut into the lead when Kelly Dugan hit an RBI single, bringing home Kevin Cron.
After the teams traded runs, the Smokies extended their lead in the eighth inning when David Bote scored on a wild pitch.
Tennessee right-hander Duane Underwood (10-5) picked up a quality start and the win after allowing two runs on five hits over seven innings. Opposing starter Taylor Clarke (9-7) took the loss in the Southern League game after allowing three runs and seven hits over six innings. David Garner struck out the side for his first save of the season.
With the win, Tennessee improved to 12-5 against Jackson this season.
