Shooting suspect surrenders to police after 2 wounded in Phoenix – Arizona News

A man surrendered himself to police nearly five hours after a shooting that left two men with serious injuries Monday afternoon, Phoenix police said.

Police were looking for the 31-year-old man after they responded to a shooting involving two male victims, age 51 and 30.

The shooting occurred near 17th Avenue and Tonto Street at about 12:30 p.m., Phoenix police said.

Officers contacted the suspect by phone and coordinated a surrender without incident near the 4700 block of West McDowell Road around 5:45 p.m., officials said. 

The two victims were transported to St. Joseph’s Hospital and Medical Center and were in serious condition, police said.

No other information was immediately available. An investigation is ongoing.
