Adaptive recreation for people with disabilities | Lifestyle – California News

In an effort to meet the needs of the community and in accordance with the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), the Cosumnes Community Services District (CSD) wants to ensure that all individuals have access to their programs. Adaptive recreation classes and programs are offered through Recreation Adventures (RAD), which provides recreation opportunities for people with disabilities through both adaptive and inclusive programs. Participants are encouraged to explore in a safe and fun environment while learning a new skill, improving their physical fitness, and making new friends along the way. PEE WEE SPLASH ‘N’ PLAY . . . Do you want to have some “cool” fun with your children ages 8 and under while they are home from school?  Check out the Pee Wee Splash ‘N’ Play in the Playground Pool at the Wackford Aquatic Complex, Splash Island on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays, Aug. 14 through Sept. 15 (excluding Sept. 4). They can splash around in an in-water playground structure and spray features.  The pool has a maximum depth of  two feet, and adult supervision is required at all times. A Lifeguard is on duty.
