LAS VEGAS (AP) — Phillip Evans had three hits and scored two runs, and Ricky Knapp allowed just four hits over 6 1/3 innings as the Las Vegas 51s beat the Colorado Springs Sky Sox 3-0 on Tuesday.
Knapp (6-12) struck out three and walked three to get the win.
In the first inning, Las Vegas took a 1-0 lead on a double by Kevin Plawecki that scored Evans. The 51s scored again in the third when Dominic Smith hit an RBI triple and then scored on a single by Plawecki.
Michael Blazek (2-3) went four innings, allowing three runs and seven hits in the Pacific Coast League game. He also struck out three and walked two. Kevin McGowan recorded his third save of the season.
Col. Springs missed a scoring opportunity in the sixth, when Chris Colabello flew out with the bases loaded to end the inning.
The Sky Sox were held scoreless for the fifth time this season, while the 51s’ staff recorded their third shutout of the year.
