FORT WAYNE, Ind. (AP) — Brad Zunica hit a two-run single in the third inning, leading the Fort Wayne TinCaps to a 6-1 win over the Dayton Dragons on Tuesday. With the victory, the TinCaps swept the four-game series.
The single by Zunica scored Jack Suwinski and Jorge Ona to give the TinCaps a 2-0 lead.
After Fort Wayne added a run in the fifth when Fernando Tatis scored on an error, the Dragons cut into the deficit in the seventh inning when Malik Collymore hit an RBI triple, driving in Michael Beltre.
Fort Wayne right-hander Pedro Avila (6-1) picked up a quality start and the win after allowing one run on five hits over 6 2/3 innings. Opposing starter Matt Blandino (1-4) took the loss in the Midwest League game after allowing three runs and five hits over 5 1/3 innings.
For the Dragons, Collymore tripled and singled twice, also stealing a base.
