Arson suspects sought in fires at Cope Middle School in Redlands – California News

REDLANDS >> A team of investigators seek four suspects that they believe set a series of fires Sunday at Cope Middle School in Redlands, officials say.

The fires were likely started between 2 and 3 a.m. at the school in the 1000 block of West Cypress Avenue, according to a Redlands police news release.

In the first incident, firefighters arrived to find a trash container engulfed in flames and put it out quickly, city spokesman Carl Baker said.

A camera directly above the container was damaged; no one was injured, Baker said.

School staff found multiple other small fires on the property after the initial incident was reported, according to the news release.

Images were provided for several of the four people suspected in the fire.

Officials asked anyone with information about the fires to call Capt. Robert Sandberg at the Redlands Fire Department at 909-798-7600 or 909-714-0575.
