San Joaquin Delta College will award over $206,000 in scholarships to 172 students at its annual Scholarship Awards Ceremony, Wednesday, August 16, 4 p.m. at Atherton Auditorium. A reception to honor the recipients will follow in Danner Hall. The public is welcome.
This year, the college will award over 350 scholarships, with many students receiving multiple awards. Students are awarded scholarship money under various criteria, including grade point average (GPA), and demonstrated financial need. Awards range from $100 to $5,000.
Delta College’s Scholarship Awards Ceremony has been an annual event since 1980, when the first program awarded $43,000. Over the past 37 years, the program has awarded a remarkable $6,222,219 in scholarships! The event recognizes achievements of San Joaquin Delta College students, their academic dreams, and the generosity of local individuals and organizations whose financial support honors and promotes higher education.
