•Mena Schools was one of three school districts in the state to receive a Blended Learning Grant, which will be used to assist with the Blended Learning pilot program that MHS will use for its 9th grade classes this school year.
•Board approved to spend $10,253.25 (including tax) to get air conditioning installed the third “trip bus” that is in the fleet. The other two trip buses were purchased with air condition. Getting a/c on this bus (which has several more years of projected use ahead of it), all three trip buses will have air conditioning.
•The board approved the Board Policies for the 2017-18 school year. There were 40 changes in all to the board policies this year. These policies are written by a lawyer (not locally) and sent down by the School Board Association. The board has the opportunity to edit as needed to meet needs for Mena Schools as needed, but traditionally these revised policies (if any) are placed in the student handbooks at the four campuses.
